Frequently ASKED QUESTIONS

How did the Fox & Goat get its name?

This is typically the very first question we get.  Story goes, while we were in the process of transferring to the Spokane area, we brought the kids over to search for a place.  We spent the entire day looking with a realtor but nothing was working.  Either too many Cons and not enough Pros, or they were out of our price range.  I (Zack) was frustrated and grumpy.  Kids were grumpy.  I told Brandi that I was in no mood to drive back home, and that we were getting a hotel for the night.  Brandi’s comment to me was “That is fine!  But when we do find the place we want, we are going to call it the Fox & Goat Ranch, because I’m a fox, and you’re just an old grumpy goat!”  It stuck!

What needs to be done to secure a wedding date with the Fox & Goat?

All it takes to book your wedding is a $1,500 non-refundable down payment and a signed Venue Agreement to reserve your date. The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the event.

How many people can you accommodate?

The Barn can accommodate 200+ guests for an inside ceremony/reception.  The outdoor barn yard can accommodate over 300 guests.  For a smaller more intimate celebration, the beautiful backyard can seat up to 100 guests.

Can we bring our own food and drinks?

One of the best things about Fox & Goat is that we don’t discriminate when it comes to food or drinks. From professional catering to food trucks, we have seen it all. Bring your own kegs or create a signature cocktail, we just ask that you get a State of WA liquor banquet permit, an event excess liability policy, and have a designated bartender.

Can we set up yard games?

Yes.  The Fox & Goat asks you to please be conscious of landscaping when deciding where you’d like to set them up.  The owners can assist you with all of this.

What is the damage deposit for and why do you need one?

The $1,000 damage deposit is refundable and protects all parties involved. The day after your event, you will do a walk-through of the property. We will have a checklist to ensure no damages were made to the barn or landscape. Examples include verifying no guests drove through the landscaping or stole decor, trash (including cigarette butts and pet waste) was properly disposed, etc. If law enforcement is required for any reason, this will result in an automatic forfeiture of your security deposit.

Why do you require Portable Toilets?

The Barn is not equipped with plumbing, and the home is not available for guest usage, so toilet facilities must be brought in. One toilet per 50 guests is pretty standard. We have negotiated a deal with “The Potty Barn” in Davenport for $80/toilet plus a one time $35 delivery & pickup fee. Just mention the Fox & Goat Ranch for this rate. Phone number is 509-348-0239.

Is the Barn heated/air conditioned?

The Barn is not centrally heated or cooled. We have ceiling fans, floor fans, and large sliding barn doors that open for the warm days, and three tall patio heaters along with a pellet stove for the chilly days.

What kind of parking is available?

The Fox & Goat has plenty of farm field parking (unpaved) and can easily accommodate your 300+ guests. We even throw in a parking attendant just to keep things organized.

Is there a noise ordinance or curfew?

Given we are in Spokane County, “legally” there is a set noise ordinance/curfew of 10:00 PM.  However, our closest neighbor is a half-mile away, so there is really nobody to bother.  Celebrate as long as you like – just be sure and turn off the lights and lock the doors!
